American entrepreneur Elon Musk has received a summons from French prosecutors, demanding that he be investigated in Paris on the 20th for improper behavior on his social media platform X, including the dissemination of pornographic images of minors and the proliferation of deepfake content. The Paris Prosecutor's Office said that Musk and X platform's former CEO Linda Yacarino have both been summoned for "voluntary questioning," while some employees of the platform are scheduled to be questioned this week as witnesses. It is currently unclear whether Musk and Yacarino will travel to Paris. The summons stems from an investigation launched by the Paris Prosecutor's Office cybercrime department in January 2025. Investigators searched the X platform's offices in France in February of this year.
