Since the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict, approximately $50 billion worth of crude oil has not been produced globally. The ripple effects of this crisis are expected to last for several months or even years. According to data from the organization Kpler, over 500 million barrels of crude oil and condensate have been reduced in the global market since the crisis erupted at the end of February - this is the largest scale energy supply interruption in modern history. Chief analyst Iain Mowat from Wood Mackenzie stated that, in other words, the 500 million barrels of oil lost in the global market is equivalent to: reducing global aviation demand for 10 weeks, all motor vehicles globally stopping driving for 11 days, or the global economy being deprived of oil for 5 days.
