"IQIYI goes crazy" rises to the top of the hot search, CEO responds
On April 20th, iQIYI announced that over a hundred artists have agreed to join the artist pool of iQIYI's professional film and television production platform, Na Dou Pro. Soon after, "iQIYI Has Gone Crazy" trended as the number one hot search on Weibo. Some users questioned whether the platform had generated AI video content without the artists' authorization, and several artists denied signing any AI-related agreements. This afternoon, iQIYI CEO Gong Yu responded to the controversy, stating that the artists listed in the Na Dou artist pool only indicate their willingness to participate in AI production, not that they have already agreed to participate in a specific AI project. Additionally, he clarified that artists like Zhang Ruoyun and Yu Hewei, mentioned by some media, are not part of the artist pool. He explained that the business model of iQIYI Na Dou Pro is aimed at smoothly transitioning the relationships between artists, talent agencies, and production projects to AI production, ensuring that artists have decision-making power over their roles in a project.
