Report: Toyota and Ningde Times will collaborate to produce hybrid vehicle batteries in Indonesia.

The Indonesian local news website Detik quoted a senior executive of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia as saying that the company is partnering with CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited) in producing hybrid car batteries in this Southeast Asian country. The investment scale of this project will reach 13 trillion Indonesian rupiah. Production will be arranged at CATL's factory in Karawang, West Java, covering battery cell and module manufacturing. The production of components is planned to begin in the second half of this year. Hybrid cars sold by Toyota in Indonesia will use batteries produced locally.
