Flight cancellations shall not be charged service fees. Airlines: Priority will be given to transferring cancelled flights during the May 1st holiday.
The May Day holiday is approaching, and many people are planning to travel. Several airlines around the world have reduced capacity and cancelled some flights. In response to the concerns of passengers about service guarantees after flight cancellations, several airline officials have said that they will fully protect the legal rights of every passenger as required by the civil aviation authority. Hu Nan, deputy general manager of Xiamen Airlines Marketing Committee, pointed out, "If there are a large number of flight cancellations, we will initiate the customer service emergency mechanism, use multiple methods to ensure quick response, consolidate flights near the departure time, prioritize transfers, and make every effort to ensure smooth travel for passengers. Free refund and change services will be provided for passengers affected by flight adjustments to ensure that passengers' rights are not compromised." An official from the China Air Transport Association stated that all member airlines have been promptly urged to do a good job in providing various service guarantees. Zhu Yaochun, Assistant Chairman of the China Air Transport Association, said, "For all passengers affected by flight adjustments, no handling fees or service charges will be charged for refunds or changes throughout the entire process."
