According to CNN, U.S. Energy Secretary Wright said in an interview on Sunday that Americans may have to wait until next year to escape the situation of gasoline prices exceeding $3 per gallon. Wright said that although the ongoing war in Iran has caused gasoline prices to soar, he is not sure when prices will fall again below $3. "It could be later this year or it could be next year," Wright said. "But prices have likely peaked and are likely to start dropping, especially once the conflict is resolved." He also said that ending the 47-year-old conflict and preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons will of course bring short-term chaos, but he believes that the United States is handling it extremely well.
