Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar said on the 18th that the Malaysian national oil company can negotiate with Russia on oil supply to ensure that the country's energy reserves are sufficient to meet demand. Anwar stated that in the current economic situation, many European countries, despite having imposed sanctions against Russia, are now competing to purchase Russian oil, so Malaysia's move is justified. Anwar also said that during a recent visit to Malaysia by Australian Prime Minister Albanese, the two sides discussed cooperation in gasoline, diesel, and fertilizer supply. Malaysia is an oil-producing country, but its domestic oil production is far from sufficient to meet demand, so it depends on imports to fill the gap. Due to global energy price fluctuations caused by conflicts in the Middle East, Malaysia's energy supply is facing challenges.
