China Meteorological Administration initiates a level four emergency response for strong wind and severe convective weather.
From April 19th to 23rd, a cold air mass will affect our country, bringing strong winds, rain, and severe convective weather. The China Meteorological Administration issued a yellow warning for strong winds and a blue warning for severe convective weather on the 19th, predicting that from the 19th to the 20th, areas including the southern part of Hebei, the central and western parts of Shandong, the central and northern parts of Henan, the northern part of Anhui, the western part of Hunan, the southeastern part of the Sichuan Basin, the central part of Chongqing, the central and northern parts of Guizhou, and the western part of Guangxi will experience thunderstorms with wind speeds exceeding 10 on the Beaufort scale or hail, with maximum wind speeds exceeding 11; some areas in the central and western parts of Chongqing, the western and northern parts of Guizhou, and the western and coastal areas of southern Guangxi will experience hourly rainfall exceeding 50 millimeters, with maximum amounts exceeding 60 millimeters. After comprehensive assessment and emergency consultation, at 9 o'clock on the 19th, the China Meteorological Administration entered a level emergency response to major meteorological disasters.
