Tianjin Port adds direct trade route to South Africa.
On April 18th, the container liner route directly from Tianjin Port to South Africa officially set sail. The opening of this new route effectively fills the gap in recent years between Tianjin Port and South African port direct shipping routes, adding a new logistics channel to China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. It is understood that the route is operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company, with a total of 12 vessels with a capacity of 5700 to 11000 standard containers, sailing to South Africa once a week. This has achieved stable direct shipping between Tianjin Port and South African ports in Durban and Cape Town, with a shortest travel time of only 40 days from Tianjin to South Africa.
