The first direct shipping route from Tianjin Port to South Africa has been opened.

Yesterday, the container liner route directly connecting Tianjin Port and South Africa was officially opened, filling the gap in recent years in direct shipping routes between Tianjin Port and South African ports, adding a new logistics channel to China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. It is understood that the route is operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company, with a total of 12 vessels carrying 5700 to 11000 standard containers. A weekly service is provided to South Africa, achieving stable direct shipping between Tianjin Port and Durban Port, with a shortest voyage time of only 40 days from Tianjin to South African ports.
