Our country's scientists have discovered the dual gradient pattern of the cerebral cortex.

According to the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligent Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the research groups of Liu Cirong and Sun Yidi, in collaboration with Hua Da Research Institute and several other institutions, have for the first time revealed the organizing principles of bipolar molecular gradients in the cerebral cortex of primates, successfully resolving long-standing academic disputes about the origin and expansion of the cerebral cortex. The related findings were published on April 16th in the international academic journal "Science".
