The overall design leader of the Yun-10, Cheng Buzhi, passed away.
The reporter learned from COMAC that on the afternoon of April 16th, the farewell ceremony for the body of expert Cheng Bushi, held by the expert consulting group of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, took place in Shanghai. Cheng Bushi passed away on April 12, 2026 at Huashan Hospital in Shanghai due to illness, at the age of 96. Cheng Bushi was the first generation of aircraft designers in New China. At the age of 26, he participated in the development of China's first jet aircraft, the Jiaojiao-1, as the chief designer. He also served as the deputy chief designer and chief designer for the first self-designed large jet airliner, the Y-10, in China.
