Local journalists learned on the 15th that at least 12 people have died in Haiti's northwest due to a severe rainstorm. In addition, the storm also caused 4 deaths in neighboring Dominican Republic. In recent days, continuous heavy rain in northern Haiti has led to flooding and many people being swept away by rising river waters. The Haitian civil defense department stated that the most severely affected areas are Cap-Hatien, Nord, Saint-Louis, and Anse--Foleur, where the floods have caused casualties and hundreds of people to be displaced.
