A Texas man is accused of throwing an incendiary device at the residence of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and attempting to set fire to the headquarters of the artificial intelligence company. According to an affidavit submitted to federal court by the FBI on Monday, 20-year-old Daniel Moreno-Gama was caught on surveillance video throwing the incendiary device outside Altman's residence in San Francisco. They said that when Moreno-Gama was arrested by the San Francisco Police Department, he was carrying a document he had written himself titled "Anti-Artificial Intelligence". According to the FBI, the document written by Moreno-Gama contained threats against Altman, which is being used as evidence of motivation. "Our investigation is just beginning, but if the evidence shows that Mr. Moreno-Gama carried out these attacks in order to change public policy or coerce the government and other officials, we will consider this behavior as domestic terrorism and prosecute him to the fullest extent allowed by law with our law enforcement partners," said US federal prosecutor Craig Mesa in a statement.
