Recent data released by the Dutch national statistics office show that the sales of traditional fuel cars in the country are gradually declining, while the electrification process of automobiles is accelerating. This phenomenon is attributed to both long-term factors in the Dutch automotive industry policy and the significant impact of the recent rapid rise in international oil prices. The data shows that by early 2026, the total number of passenger cars in the Netherlands is around 9.4 million, an increase of nearly 2% from a year ago, with the majority of new additions being electrified models. Currently, the number of electric or partially electric cars in the Netherlands has exceeded 2 million, an increase of nearly 6% from a year ago, accounting for about one-fifth of the total number of cars.
