On April 8, 2026, the National Government Procurement Work Conference was held in Beijing. The conference summarized the achievements and experiences of national government procurement work during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, planned the ideas for government procurement work during the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" period, and deployed key tasks in the near future. The conference emphasized the need to further promote the construction of a unified national market, advance the implementation of domestic product standards, deepen special rectification of illegal and irregular behaviors, strengthen the supervision of online marketplaces, and ensure equal participation of various types of business entities in government procurement. It also called for further opening up the government procurement market, accelerating the process of joining the World Trade Organization's "Government Procurement Agreement," and continuously expanding institutional opening.
