China Automotive Technology and Research Center's Fang Haifeng: It is expected that the market share of hybrid models will continue to grow before 2030.
Chief expert of China Automotive Technology Research Center Co., Ltd. and Deputy Director of China Automotive Strategy and Policy Research Center Fang Haifeng stated today at the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development Forum that he expects the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China to exceed 70% by 2030. In this process, pure electric vehicles will still be the mainstream technology route, but the market share of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) will also continue to gradually increase. The "Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicle Technology Roadmap" predicts that by 2035, traditional energy passenger vehicles will achieve full hybridization; by 2040, hybrid vehicles will account for over 65% of traditional energy commercial vehicles.
