On April 11th, Inner Mongolia held a press conference on the establishment of the China Free Trade Zone, focusing on the core content of the construction of the free trade zone and clarifying the development positioning, functional layout, reform tasks, and measures to promote. The Inner Mongolia free trade zone takes institutional innovation as its core, establishing a strategic position of "5 centers, 1 strategic highland, 1 demonstration area, and 1 strategic support point," deeply integrating into the construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor. The total area of the trial zone is 119.74 square kilometers, including Hohhot, Manzhouli, and Erenhot, which each have unique characteristics. Currently, the trial zone is implementing 81 pilot reform tasks in seven major areas and has replicated and promoted 280 innovative achievements from advanced national free trade zones. Inner Mongolia has established a multi-level coordinated working mechanism, strengthened funding, and talent guarantees, and strives to build the Inner Mongolia free trade zone into a high-level free trade zone with convenient investment and trade, a good innovation ecosystem, a gathering of advantageous industries, and active international exchanges within 3 to 5 years.
