Benchmark analyst Cody Acree said that the expanded partnership between Intel and Google indicates that the company remains an important player in the AI chip field. He raised Intel's target price from $57 to $76. Despite Google deploying a variety of chips including NVIDIA GPUs and its own chips, the company still commits to using multiple generations of Intel's Xeon CPU. Acree said that this partnership shows that "CPUs still play a core role in heterogeneous AI systems, and x86 continues to play a persistent role in hyperscale infrastructure." He added that this confirms that "the market is increasingly realizing that AI is a full-system architecture problem, not just a GPU problem."
