Xi Jinping put forward four points of views on the development of cross-strait relations. First, adhere to the correct understanding to promote emotional connection. Compatriots on both sides of the strait share the same roots, culture, and blood ties, and are a community of shared destiny. As family members, as long as we communicate well and discuss matters, there are no conflicts that cannot be resolved. Different social systems are not an excuse for division. The two parties, the Communist Party of China and the Kuomintang, as well as compatriots on both sides of the strait, must firmly stand on the national position, inherit and promote Chinese culture, firmly affirm their identity with the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, and the great motherland, and enhance their confidence in being dignified Chinese people. Second, adhere to safeguarding the common homeland through peaceful development. Mainland China and Taiwan belong to one China, which is the common homeland of the Chinese nation. It is essential to adhere to the "1992 Consensus" and oppose "Taiwan independence", with the core being the recognition that both sides belong to one China. As long as it benefits peaceful development of cross-strait relations, we welcome all proposals and will do our best to implement them. "Taiwan independence" is the main culprit in undermining peace in the Taiwan Strait, which we will never tolerate. The two parties, the Communist Party and the Kuomintang, as well as the compatriots on both sides of the strait, must uphold the national righteousness, oppose "Taiwan independence" and external interference, promote peaceful development of cross-strait relations, and firmly safeguard the common homeland of the Chinese nation. Third, adhere to enhancing the well-being of the people through exchanges and integration. The goal of developing cross-strait relations is to enable compatriots on both sides to live a better life. We will continue to uphold the concept of "both sides of the strait are one family", actively work for the well-being of Taiwan compatriots, and solve their difficulties. The mainland of our motherland is beautiful, and the market is vast. We welcome Taiwan compatriots to visit often, Taiwanese youth to come to the mainland for exchanges and development, and Taiwanese agricultural and fishery products and quality goods to enter countless households on the mainland. The two parties and compatriots on both sides must jointly expand cross-strait exchanges, interactions, and integration to enhance the affection and well-being of compatriots on both sides. Fourth, adhere to unity and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This year marks the 160th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, and revitalizing China and national reunification were his lifelong pursuits. Today, we have successfully embarked on a path of modernization with Chinese characteristics, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is unstoppable. We firmly believe that more and more Taiwanese compatriots will have a correct understanding of the mainland's social system and development path, and realize that the future of Taiwan lies in the strong motherland and the well-being of Taiwanese compatriots is tied to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This year marks the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan" for the mainland, and we are willing to share development opportunities and achievements with Taiwanese compatriots, and jointly strengthen the economy of the Chinese nation. The two parties must strengthen political mutual trust, maintain a positive interaction, unite compatriots on both sides, and work together to create a beautiful future for the reunification of the motherland and the rejuvenation of the nation.
