This is one of Alibaba's strategic moves to shift its focus towards commercializing AI models. The report states that Zhou will prioritize aligning AI model development with Alibaba's cloud business and revenue goals. After launching closed-source models, Alibaba still plans to continue releasing advanced open-source models in some areas.
