According to the China Railway Beijing Bureau, the "Lufeng" new energy locomotive, which has the largest battery capacity in China, has been officially put into operation on the Sha Wei Railway in Zhangjiakou, Hebei. This locomotive is the first in the country to meet the needs of medium and long-distance mainline transport with pure electric locomotives. Its operation expands the application of pure electric locomotives from "short-distance shunting" to "medium and long-distance transport", marking the entry of China's medium and long-distance railway branch lines into the "pure electric era".
