Boosted by demand from refineries, prices of regular gasoline along the Gulf of Mexico coast have increased.
Traders said that on Thursday, the spot price difference for regular gasoline along the US Gulf Coast rose, as refining companies entered the market to purchase fuel. Traders stated that M2 regular gasoline in the US Gulf Coast was trading at a narrower discount of 5 cents to the New York Mercantile Exchange RBOB gasoline futures, at a discount of 4 cents. The price difference for A2 CBOB gasoline in the Gulf Coast fell by 0.5 cents, compared to a futures discount of 14 cents. The price difference for 62 ULSD in the Gulf Coast dropped by 0.75 cents, compared to a 5 cent discount to the ULSD futures benchmark. Traders noted that the price difference for Chicago CBOB gasoline remained stable at a discount of 15 cents to futures, while the price difference for Chicago ULSD decreased by 4.5 cents, at a discount of 7.5 cents to futures.
