ExxonMobil disclosed that the war caused a 6% global production loss in the first quarter.
ExxonMobil's global production in the first quarter decreased by 6% due to the Iran war causing the company's oil and gas operations in the Persian Gulf to come to a standstill. The company stated on Wednesday that half of the production stoppage came from a liquefied natural gas facility in Qatar, where ExxonMobil is a partner. The facility's two LNG production lines were damaged in an Iranian missile attack. ExxonMobil stated in a release, "Public reports indicate that the damage will take a considerable amount of time to repair. Due to ongoing on-site assessments, we cannot speculate on how long it will take for these two production lines to resume normal operations."
