Local time on April 8th, it was learned that US President Trump stated that after reaching a two-week ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, both sides are expected to "soon hold" face-to-face talks in Islamabad, Pakistan to push for a long-term agreement. Trump said that the talks could take place as early as this week, with US delegation members possibly including US Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, Witkoff, and his son-in-law, Kushner.
