High temperature warning raised to level three, temperatures in many areas of Hainan can reach above 40.
This afternoon, the Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau has upgraded the high temperature level four warning to level three: it is expected that tomorrow during the day, most townships in nine cities and counties including Haikou, Chengmai, Lingao, Ding'an, Tunchang, Danzhou, Baisha, Changjiang, and Dongfang will experience temperatures above 37C, with temperatures in some townships in Changjiang, Baisha, Danzhou, Lingao, and Chengmai reaching above 40C. It is understood that Hainan has been receiving little precipitation recently, leading to a rapid increase in surface temperatures. On April 7th, the highest temperature in Tunchang County reached 40.4C, breaking the historical record for the highest temperature in April. The Hainan Provincial Meteorological Department predicts that the high temperature weather will continue in the province in the coming days.
