On April 8th, Alibaba Group CEO Wu Yongming announced in an internal letter the restructuring of AI-related organizations, including the establishment of a new Group Technology Committee and the upgrading of the Tmall AI Department to accelerate AI development. The two most important adjustments according to the internal letter include: first, the establishment of the Alibaba Group Technology Committee with Wu Yongming as the leader and members including Zhou Jingren, Wu Zeming, and Li Feifei; second, the upgrade of the Tmall Laboratory to the Tmall AI Department.
