Exclusive | Alibaba establishes a new group Technology Committee, upgrades the Universal Model Department, and accelerates AI development.

On the afternoon of April 8th, Sina Technology exclusively learned that Alibaba Group CEO Wu Yongming released an internal letter announcing the adjustment of AI-related organizations, including the establishment of the Group Technology Committee, the upgrade of the Turing Model Business Unit, and the acceleration of AI development. According to the internal letter, Alibaba set up a Technology Committee at the group level, with Wu Yongming as the leader and members including Zhou Jingren, Wu Zeming, and Li Feifei. Zhou Jingren will serve as the Chief AI Architect of the Technology Committee, Li Feifei will be responsible for Alibaba Cloud technology and AI cloud infrastructure construction, and Wu Zeming will be responsible for the construction of the group's business technology platform and AI inference platform. In line with the overall goal of accelerating AI development, Alibaba will also upgrade the Turing Laboratory to the Turing Model Business Unit, led by Zhou Jingren; Li Feifei will become the CTO of Alibaba Cloud; Wu Zeming will focus on the role of CTO of Alibaba Group, and the position of CEO of Taobao HiBuy will be taken over by Lei Yanqun.
