The monthly report from Halifax Bank showed that the average house price in March increased year-on-year. Despite the uncertainty brought by the Middle East conflict, house prices remained resilient, causing the stock prices of British residential builders to soar. However, analysts at Gahm Capital pointed out that house prices have indeed fallen below the 300,000 mark, the lowest level so far this year. They said that this indicates that the rise in energy and fuel costs, as well as the increase in mortgage rates, have already impacted the spring sales season. Vistry's stock price rose by 12%, followed closely by Persimmon, Barratt Redrow, and Crest Nicholson, which increased by 10%, 8.4%, and 7.5% respectively. European stock indices rose in early trading after the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran.
