The General Administration of Sport of China Swimming Center issued a statement on the cyberbullying incident involving athletes such as Quan Hongchan: Recently, there has been online violence, malicious attacks, and false information directed at athletes such as Quan Hongchan. Our center takes this matter very seriously and has already cooperated with relevant departments of the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau to investigate and handle the situation. Currently, the Second Sha Sports Training Center of the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau has reported the case to the police. We strongly support the protection of athletes' legal rights through legal means, firmly resist the distorted "fan circle" culture, and will not tolerate any misconduct once confirmed, regardless of the person involved. The Swimming Center has always been strongly against all forms of cyberbullying and spreading rumors, strongly condemning any behavior that harms athletes' physical and mental health and damages the image of the national team. We will continue to strengthen the construction of the national team and protect the rights of athletes, improve the system for caring for athletes' physical and mental well-being, and fully uphold a healthy and clean sports public opinion environment, safeguarding the good image of Chinese sports heroes and rallying support for the healthy development of Chinese sports.
