Severe crackdown on illegal sand mining, Ministry of Water Resources approval for new round of large rivers sand mining management plan.

Reporters learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that recently, the Ministry approved the management plans for sand mining in key river sections of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, Huai River, Pearl River, Songhua River, and Liao River basins. It delineated prohibited, permissible, and reserved areas for sand mining in important river sections of the major rivers, and specified key indicators such as controlling the elevation of mining, mining bans, and operating methods. The comprehensive implementation of electronic management for sand mining in river channels, strengthening the application of technologies such as Beidou positioning, electronic fences, video surveillance, and drone patrols, and cracking down on illegal sand mining activities.
