The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has released the prices of livestock products and feed in the first week of April. According to monitoring data from 500 county-level markets and collection points nationwide, in the first week of April, the prices of eggs, commercial broiler chicks, beef cattle, live sheep, broiler feed, and layer feed all increased compared to the previous week. Pork products, chicken meat, lamb meat, and soybean meal prices all decreased, while fresh milk, corn, and fattening pig feed prices remained stable. In terms of pork products, the average price of piglets in the country was 24.56 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 3.4% from the previous week and a decrease of 36.5% year-on-year. Prices of piglets in all 29 monitoring provinces decreased, with higher prices in North China at 25.33 yuan per kilogram and lower prices in East China at 23.53 yuan per kilogram. The national average price of live pigs was 10.40 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 2.6% from the previous week and a decrease of 31.4% year-on-year. Prices of live pigs in all 30 monitoring provinces decreased. The national average price of pork was 21.03 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 2.3% from the previous week and a decrease of 19.5% year-on-year.
