Sinopec Refining and Petrochemical Engineering announced that the company has signed an EPC engineering general contracting agreement for the Kazakhstan Butadiene and Rubber Project with Kazakhstan Butadiene Limited Liability Company. The main scope of the contract includes engineering design, procurement, and construction of related process units, utilities, and auxiliary facilities. The contract is worth approximately 1.093 billion US dollars and will be recorded as the company's unfinished contract amount. The project is located in Atyrau region, Kazakhstan, and is owned by a subsidiary of the Kazakhstan Samruk-Kazyna Fund. The project focuses on the production of butadiene rubber, with an annual rubber production capacity of 300,000 tons after completion.
