Iraq's state-owned company, Basra Oil Company, recently stated that if the conflict in Iran ends and the Strait of Hormuz remains open, Iraq's crude oil exports can be restored to pre-conflict levels "within a week." Reuters reported on the 6th, citing Bassem Abdul Karim, director of Basra Oil Company, that currently, the production of southern oil fields in Iraq is about 900,000 barrels per day. The Rumaila oil field in Basra province has seen its daily production drop from about 1.35 million barrels before the conflict to about 400,000 barrels, while the Zubair oil field in the same province has dropped from 640,000 barrels to 300,000 barrels. The production of the Kirkuk oil field in the north is about 380,000 barrels per day. Iraq's fiscal revenue comes from about 90% of oil exports, with the main oil-producing regions in the south. Before the US and Israel launched military strikes against Iran on February 28, Iraq produced about 4.3 million barrels of oil per day, with daily oil exports of about 3.5 million barrels, mainly shipped through the Strait of Hormuz.
