According to the National Immigration Administration, during this year's Qingming Festival holiday, the border control agencies across the country ensured the entry and exit of 6.779 million Chinese and foreign nationals, with an average of 2.26 million people per day, an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period last year. The peak of daily entry and exit clearance occurred on April 6, with 2.334 million people. The entry and exit of residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan totaled 3.291 million, an increase of 19.5% compared to the same period last year; the entry and exit of foreigners totaled 843,000, an increase of 20.9% from the same period last year; among the foreigners entering the country, 319,000 were eligible for visa-free entry, an increase of 30.7% compared to the same period last year. A total of 307,000 transportation vehicles were checked for entry and exit, an increase of 13.3% compared to the same period last year.
