Today (April 6), U.S. President Trump, while attending an event at the White House, talked to the media about Iran, saying that the deadline on Tuesday (April 7) in Eastern Time is "non-negotiable." Trump once again emphasized that "Iran cannot have nuclear weapons" and mentioned that in his first term, he tore up the Iran nuclear deal and assassinated the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' "Quds Force," Qasem Soleimani, "to prevent Israel from being wiped off the map." Trump insisted that he has achieved a "regime change" in Iran, stating that the current Iranian leadership negotiating with the United States is "more reasonable." However, he also stated that "they (Iran) just refuse to give in, but they will eventually yield - if they do not, they will have nothing." Trump also said that if given the choice, he would "take (Iran's) oil," because "oil is right within their grasp, and they (Iran) are powerless against it." Trump said, "Unfortunately, the American people want us to come home - if it were up to me, I would take the oil, I would make it mine, I would make a lot of money." When asked by reporters why the conflict is still ongoing despite repeated claims by the U.S. that Iran's military strength has been destroyed, Trump said, "They (Iran) still have some missiles and some drones. They were lucky to shoot down a (U.S. military) plane." (CCTV International News).
