JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon stated that the deployment speed of AI may be faster than the speed at which labor adapts.
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, stated in a shareholder letter that the deployment speed of AI will surpass previous technological changes, possibly faster than the adaptability of the workforce. Dimon said, "AI will affect almost all functions, applications, and processes of companies," and added that AI will ultimately shorten the work week in developed countries. Dimon said, "AI will certainly eliminate some jobs, while also enhancing others." "In previous technological changes, the workforce had time to adjust and retrain." He said that for those whose jobs are affected by AI, businesses and governments can choose to incentivize retraining, provide income assistance, retrain skills, early retirement, and relocation, among other methods.
