The National Disaster Management Department of Afghanistan said on the 5th that recent disasters caused by heavy rains in Afghanistan have resulted in at least 99 deaths and 154 injuries. The department's spokesman, Yusuf Hamad, said on social media that heavy rains since March 26 have caused floods, landslides, and severe thunderstorms in many parts of Afghanistan. Various disasters have led to the complete or partial destruction of 5,000 houses, the washing away of 355 kilometers of roads, the submerging of more than 87,000 acres of farmland, and a total of 8,532 families affected. A warning issued by the Afghan Meteorological Department shows that heavy rains will continue in Afghanistan in the coming days, with all 34 provinces facing the risk of flooding.
