Domestic fuel surcharge for flights starting today has been adjusted. A surcharge of 120 yuan will be charged for flights over 800 kilometers.
Recently, several airlines including Air China, Xiamen Airlines, and China United Airlines announced adjustments to the fuel surcharge rates for domestic flights. Starting from April 5, 2026, the new fuel surcharge rates for domestic flights are as follows:
For flights under 800 kilometers, each passenger will be charged RMB 60;
For flights over 800 kilometers, each passenger will be charged RMB 120.
Infants who are entitled to a 10% discount on adult domestic airfares are exempt from paying the fuel surcharge.
For children, revolutionary disabled veterans, and public security police officers disabled in the line of duty who are entitled to a 50% discount on adult domestic airfares, the fuel surcharge rates are as follows:
For flights under 800 kilometers, each passenger will be charged RMB 30;
For flights over 800 kilometers, each passenger will be charged RMB 60.
The effective date for the fuel surcharge is based on the original ticketing date. For domestic tickets sold before April 5, 2026, if changes are made to travel after April 5, 2026, the fuel surcharge that has already been collected will not be refunded or adjusted.
