Recently, it was learned from the Higher Education Press that the internationally academic journal "Vita" led by China will officially publish its print edition in June this year. The journal is positioned against top international academic journals, focusing on the fields of life sciences and biomedicine. The main issue is freely open to global researchers. The emphasis on "freely open" is due to a growing contradiction in the current academic publishing field: on the one hand, there is the vision of knowledge sharing, on the other hand, there is the reality of continuously rising article processing fees for some international journals. Some researchers have likened it to this: "The money to buy a piece of research equipment is not enough to pay for the fees of two or three top journal articles." An industry professional explained: "We paid for the invoice at that time, and the magazine was then published, finally charging us more than 50,000 RMB in publication fees. Some European journals may charge up to $8,000 for each article, and some higher ones may charge over $10,000."
