Abu Dhabi's main natural gas facilities have temporarily halted operations after debris intercepted fell into the compound and caused a fire.
After a fire broke out at the largest natural gas processing plant in Abu Dhabi, operations were temporarily suspended. This marks the second shutdown of the facility since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East. The Abu Dhabi Media Office posted a message on X stating that the Habshan natural gas facility had halted operations after fragments from intercepted attacks fell into the park. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company operates this key gas collection and processing facility in the UAE. Habshan also has oil facilities and serves as the starting point of a crude oil pipeline leading to Fujairah, an important port outside the Strait of Hormuz. Just a few hours ago, the Mina Ahmadieh Refinery in Kuwait was also attacked, causing equipment in operation to catch fire. Authorities also reported that a power and desalination plant was attacked early Friday morning, resulting in partial damage to the equipment.
