The Ministry of Transport has placed the Wandaikai Expressway project in Chongqing under special supervision following the gas explosion incident at the Tiefengshan Tunnel on March 30th.

According to the "Notice and Supervision Measures for Safety Production Warning and Supervision by the Ministry of Transport", the Ministry of Transport recently decided to put Chongqing Wankaida Highway Engineering Project Tie Fengshan Tunnel "3-30" gas explosion accident under supervision. The initial supervision period is set for one year. On March 30th, a gas explosion occurred in the Tie Fengshan Tunnel of Wankaida Highway in Chongqing, causing 4 deaths and 9 injuries. The construction unit is Chongqing High-speed Railway Construction Wankaida Highway Co., Ltd., the construction unit is China Railway 12th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., the design unit is China Railway Yangtze River Traffic Design Group Co., Ltd., and the supervision unit is Beijing Zhongtong Highway Bridge Engineering Consulting Development Co., Ltd. The supervisory requirements for the local transportation authorities to investigate the cause of the accident as soon as possible according to their responsibilities, identify the outstanding safety management issues of the project participants, promptly rectify the issues, and seriously deal with the responsible units and individuals in accordance with the law and regulations. Strengthen the supervision of engineering safety, ensure that all participants in the project fulfill their safety production responsibilities, strengthen on-site construction safety management, and resolutely prevent production safety accidents.
