Midday report: The Shanghai Composite Index fell nearly 1% in the morning, with over 4700 stocks in the entire market trading in the red.
The market opened high and moved lower in the morning, with the Shanghai Composite Index losing the 3900-point mark again. The optical communication concept stocks performed strongly against the trend, with Huayuan Communication, Yitian Stock, Tongyu Communication and other stocks hitting the daily limit up. Stocks related to lithography machines and photoresist were active, with Zhongrun Optics, CSSC Special Gas, and Medikai all rising by over 10%. On the downside, the coal sector underwent adjustment, with Yunmei Energy nearing the daily limit down; power stocks collectively fell, with Leshan Power and Mindong Power hitting the daily limit down. Individual stocks showed a generally declining trend, with over 4700 stocks in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing trading in the green in the morning, with a total turnover of 1.08 trillion yuan in the first half of the day. The Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.93% at midday, the Shenzhen Component Index fell by 0.73%, and the ChiNext Index fell by 0.21%.
