Analysts at Bernstein stated in a research report that after the second quarter, there will be less room for further increases in storage chip prices, as suppliers are becoming more focused on signing long-term agreements to achieve profitability. They pointed out that contract prices for DRAM and NAND in the first quarter increased by more than twice compared to the fourth quarter. DRAM handles more temporary and immediate tasks, while NAND flash provides long-term storage. These analysts predict that storage chip prices will continue to rise this year, with NAND prices potentially rising more in the short term. They pointed out that as more capacity comes online, storage chip prices may peak in the first half of 2027 and begin to decline in the second half of 2027 and 2028.
