The Nikkei 225 index fell by 2% during the day, while the TOPIX index dropped nearly 2%. The KOSPI index in South Korea fell by 4.00% after initially rising by nearly 2% at the opening, following an 8.4% rise yesterday. Both the Sensex and Nifty 50 indices in India fell by over 2%. The MSCI Asia Pacific index dropped by 2% to 232.61 points. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 index fell by 1% at one point to 8589.60 points. In Europe, the Euro Stoxx 50 index futures widened their decline to 1.2%, while German DAX index futures dropped by 1.2% and UK FTSE 100 index futures fell by 0.2%.
