The price of mobile phone recycling has dropped. The recycling price of old phones has dropped by 100 yuan in a week.
Recently, the prices of consumer-grade memory modules have ended their months-long surge and seen a significant correction. This fluctuation has quickly spread to the downstream second-hand digital product market. Reporters found that the previously booming trend of recycling old phones for parts, driven by a shortage of memory chips, has cooled down, and the prices for old phone recycling have become more rational. In the second-hand phone recycling market in Huaqiangbei, Shenzhen, many shops still have inquiring customers, but merchants' prices have noticeably loosened compared to before. Several merchants have stated that the drop in memory spot prices has directly affected the phone recycling market, with the prices for some popular models dropping by around 100 yuan within a week. "For example, last week this used phone could have been recycled for 1000 yuan, but now it may only fetch 900 yuan." Some businesses have indicated that a large number of old phones were sold previously, leading to market saturation in demand and therefore no more premiums for old phones.
