Michael O'Leary, CEO of Europe's largest budget airline, Ryanair, said on April 1st that if the transportation in the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, the airline may face a fuel shortage of up to 25% in May and June, and there may be a tight supply of aviation fuel in Europe in May. Data from the International Air Transport Association shows that about 25% to 30% of aviation fuel in Europe comes from the Gulf region, making it one of the most severely affected regions in the world by the situation in the Middle East.
