After President Trump of the United States suggested that the Middle East war could end in the next two to three weeks, investors lowered their expectations for the Bank of England to raise interest rates in the coming months. This news eased concerns about long-term inflation caused by restricted energy supply, although the full impact of this conflict is still uncertain. Data from the London Stock Exchange Group shows that the market currently reflects a 32% likelihood of the Bank of England raising the UK benchmark interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point in the April 30 interest rate decision, lower than the 60% likelihood reflected on Monday.
