After storage prices reached a high point, prices have finally started to loosen. On March 31st, reporters visited Huaqiangbei in Shenzhen and learned that memory modules represented by DDR5 have recently begun to decrease in price, with some products experiencing a price drop of up to 30%. At the same time, the increase in prices of storage products in the past has led to an increase in the prices of used smartphones for recycling. Recently, the trend has started to reverse, and recycling prices are gradually falling. However, it is understood that this wave of price cuts does not affect all storage products. Currently, SSD prices are relatively stable, with some products seeing small price reductions, while the prices of mechanical hard drives remain at high levels. Whether this is a turning point caused by the excessive absorption of storage capacity by AI data centers leading to widespread scarcity and price increases in storage products, it is still difficult to determine. However, after several months of price increases, some storage products have started to loosen in price, which may indicate a change in the market supply and demand.
