Where to go: Tropical destinations are popular for spring break travel, with hotel bookings on the rise in many places.
Starting from April 1st, many primary and secondary school students from Jiangsu, Zhejiang Shaoxing, Sichuan, and Anhui began their spring break. Data from travel websites show that on March 31st, a group of families on spring break had already started traveling, creating the first wave of flight peaks. On April 1st, most families on spring break had already checked into their destination hotels, leading to a nearly 2-fold increase in the number of guests staying in popular cities on the same day. The top 10 most popular cities for hotel stays on April 1st are Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Chongqing, Luoyang, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Wuhan, and Guangzhou. Among them, Luoyang, which has a rich historical and cultural heritage and is suitable for educational visits, saw a more than 5-fold increase in the number of guests staying there. Xi'an saw a more than 4-fold increase, while Beijing and Wuhan saw more than a 2-fold increase, and Chongqing, Hangzhou, and Nanjing also saw a doubling of guest numbers.
